Curb strap

The primary function of a curb strap is to control and limit the lever action of a curb bit to protect the mouth. It also distributes the pressure between the mouth poll and chin. The curb strap should be tightened to stop the lever action when the shank is 45 degrees from the mouth. Curb straps in leather are comfortable for the horse and easy to use for the rider.
