Titanium is a tasteless metal which naturally adapts to the temperature of the mouth, encouraging the horse to accept the bit and be more comfortable.
We usually recommend a Titanium bit for sensitive mouthed horses who can react to other metals e.g. red marks or sores developing, despite a soft contact from the hands.
Titanium gives a super light feeling in the hand and quicker response when compared to a heavier bit, particularly when combined with the correct mouthpiece for the individual horse.

Fager's leather bits are highly beneficial for horses that exhibit sensitivity to most bits, dislike metal bits, and can get wear on the teeth. The leather material possesses the ability to adapt to the contour of the horse's mouth, thereby rendering the bit uniquely suited to that particular horse.
Fager's leather bits are handmade to offer the best quality possible. The leather is stitched by hand around a wire that's covered with nylon. This assures you that in case of an accident, the horse will not get hurt by the wire in the middle. The wire isn't only to keep you and your horse safe, it also keeps the shape of the bit.
Fagers leather is vegetable tanned; no harmful chemicals or artificial colors are used.
If the bit gets dry, we recommend soaking it in food-grade paraffin oil.
Make sure that the stitching points to the outside of the mouth and not against the mouthcorners.
NOTE! The leather material is not suitable for horses that chew a lot on the bit. The bit is therefore not covered by warranty or right of complaint if the damage has occurred due to the horse biting the bit.
Fager's rubber bits is crafted using TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane) – a modern, high-performance material known for its exceptional flexibility, strength, and durability. Unlike traditional soft rubber, TPU maintains its smooth surface and balanced elasticity even with regular use, offering a consistent and reliable feel for both horse and rider.
Our TPU material is also non-toxic, hypoallergenic, and completely horse-safe. It does not absorb odors or flavors, ensuring a clean and neutral taste that most horses accept easily. Additionally, the surface is resistant to moisture and temperature changes, preventing cracking or stickiness often seen in conventional rubber bits.
Rubber bits are ideal for horses that need a softer, more forgiving contact. They suit young or sensitive horses, those with bit anxiety, or horses who just need a more forgiving contact. The flexible surface reduces pressure and friction, encouraging relaxation and steady contact.
Sweet iron is a covering on top of a bit made of stainless steel. We have both grey and blue sweet iron coatings.
The purpose is to disguise the metal taste from stainless steel and create a pleasant, sweet taste, encouraging the horse to seek more contact and hold on to the bit. Following use, sweet iron will start to oxidize and turn brownish grey, this is to be expected. The more the sweet iron oxidizes, more ‘sweet’ taste will be released. When this happens the ‘blue’ will almost disappear.
