Fager Gina is a good choice if you would describe your horse as the following;
Gina has a double-jointed mouthpiece that creates space for the tongue, relieving constant tongue pressure.
The large middle piece is cleverly designed to be positioned lower than the joints to increase the point pressure on the tongue. This creates pressure when your horse pulls or feels heavy in your hand to help get a lighter feeling.
The big middle piece will make this bit an excellent option for horses who tend to get heavy in the hand and want a quicker response when you take the reins.
Fagers Basic line has the same amazing quality and elaborated designs, just with a more affordable standard stainless steel material.
Observe, the basic line does not include velvet bags.
More about the mouthpiece
Loose Rings are designed to move independently to the mouthpiece. This allows the horse more freedom to use his tongue, enabling them to place the pressure from the mouthpiece either higher or lower, whichever they prefer.
Loose Rings are a good choice for a horse that can lean on the bit and can feel stiff to get a softer, more flexible contact.
More about the loose rings
A loose ring bit should sit comfortably with about 2–5 mm space on each side of the horse’s mouth. If the bit is too narrow it may pinch the lips, while a bit that is too wide can move too much and reduce stability.
If your horse has sensitive mouth corners, we recommend adding bit guards to protect the skin.
