The joints on Thilde are tilted 45 degrees and can be used in 2 ways:
With the horse logo on the right side running forward, the joints will follow the tongue to make the pressure in the tongue more gentle. This can be good for sensitive horses who need clear but gentle signals.
With the horse logo upside down on the left side running forward, the joints will give some more pressure on the tongue when you take the reins, but also more relief when you give the reins. This can be good for horses that are sensitive but where you want a quicker reaction.
Thilde is a durable and lightweight, double-jointed Titanium Snaffle.

The lightweight, straight design helps to promote more precise and direct communication down the reins.
At Fager we design our bits to always sit horizontally straight, there is never a bigger bend forward. The reasoning behind this is to ensure that the bit maintains the correct balance point (BP) in the mouth, creating stability and clear communication for the horse. When a bit creates a bigger bend forward, it also moves the BP forward, detrimentally reducing the effectiveness of the aids
More about the mouthpiece
Loose Rings are designed to move independently to the mouthpiece. This allows the horse more freedom to use his tongue, enabling them to place the pressure from the mouthpiece either higher or lower, whichever they prefer.
Loose Rings are a good choice for a horse that can lean on the bit and can feel stiff to get a softer, more flexible contact.
More about the loose rings
A loose ring bit should sit comfortably with about 2–5 mm space on each side of the horse’s mouth. If the bit is too narrow it may pinch the lips, while a bit that is too wide can move too much and reduce stability.
If your horse has sensitive mouth corners, we recommend adding bit guards to protect the skin.
