Experience the benefits of Fager's Sweet gold bits:
Introducing Fager's latest innovation: the Sweet Gold™ Bit. Crafted to address common challenges faced by riders with horses unsteady in the contact, prone to dropping the bit, or lacking in their instinct to seek out contact, this bit offers a solution for enhanced connection and performance.
Benefits:
*Establishes a deeper and more connected contact between horse and rider.
*Encourages the horse to hold onto the bit with its sweet taste, promoting relaxation and acceptance.
*Features a flat and wider part over the tongue for unparalleled comfort inside the horse's mouth.
*Suitable even for young horses due to its comfortable design and gentle stimulation.
Function: The Sweet Gold™ Bit functions by providing a comfortable and enticing experience for the horse, encouraging them to maintain consistent contact with the rider's hand. The sweet taste of the bit helps the horse relax and accept the contact, while the design and angle of the shape ensure maximum comfort, even for young or sensitive horses. By promoting a steady and forward connection, this bit empowers riders to achieve a more consistent and responsive ride.
The sweet gold material contains copper which makes the material a bit softer. If you have a horse that tends to chew a lot on the bit, this may cause bite marks on the surface. Do not boil this bit or wash it with too warm water. Due to the copper material, the bit can be misshapen with warm water (over body temperature).
More about the mouthpiece
Loose Rings are designed to move independently to the mouthpiece. This allows the horse more freedom to use his tongue, enabling them to place the pressure from the mouthpiece either higher or lower, whichever they prefer.
Loose Rings are a good choice for a horse that can lean on the bit and can feel stiff to get a softer, more flexible contact.
More about the loose rings
A loose ring bit should sit comfortably with about 2–5 mm space on each side of the horse’s mouth. If the bit is too narrow it may pinch the lips, while a bit that is too wide can move too much and reduce stability.
If your horse has sensitive mouth corners, we recommend adding bit guards to protect the skin.
