The material promotes softness and salivation, improving comfort and focus.

Nicole Hard Rubber Bit – Designed for Comfort, Built for Performance
Give your horse the comfort it deserves with the Nicole Hard Rubber Bit – a modern solution for riders seeking gentle, yet clear, communication.
This mouthpiece is slightly thinner in the middle, allowing for a gentler fit on the tongue without excessive pressure on the bars or palate. The shape, combined with the gentle material, makes this bit a suitable option for horses with sensitive bars and palate who can be worried in the mouth, and throw their head up when you take the reins. This mouthpiece is suitable for a wide range of horses.
Material
Crafted from premium TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane), this bit combines the softness of rubber with the strength and durability needed for everyday riding. TPU is known for its exceptional flexibility, durability, and horse-safe properties, making it ideal for sensitive-mouthed horses and those needing a steadier contact.
Why TPU?
* Gentle on the Mouth – Soft, rubber-like feel that encourages relaxation and trust.
* Highly Durable – Resists wear, cracking, and moisture for long-lasting use.
* Safe & Non-toxic – TPU is hygienic, easy to clean, and free from harmful chemicals.
Tailored to Your Horse’s Needs
Two Hardness Levels:
* Soft (light green color) – for young or sensitive horses who benefit from a milder feel.
* Hard (dark green color) – for horses needing clearer signals with slightly more structure.
Two Thickness Options:
Choose the ideal thickness for your horse’s mouth conformation and riding style.
Whether you're developing a young horse or refining the connection with an experienced partner, the Nicole Hard Rubber Bit supports a softer contact, better communication, and total comfort – every ride, every time.
NOTE! The TPU material is more durable than most rubber bits, but it can still show marks from the teeth of horses that chew or bite on the bit. The bit is therefore not covered by warranty or right of complaint if the damage has occurred due to the horse biting the bit.
More about the mouthpiece
The Pelham bit is designed to give the rider both direct rein aids and additional leverage when needed. The upper ring attaches to the cheekpiece of the bridle, while the lower ring is used for the curb rein or a converter. When the lower rein is used, the shank creates leverage, applying pressure to the poll, the mouth, and the curb chain under the chin.
This action encourages the horse to rebalance, soften in the contact, and come down/forward to the bit with a framed, stable feeling. The Pelham can be useful for horses that become strong, heavy in the hand, or need extra help maintaining balance and control, especially in jumping or faster work. It should always be used with a soft, educated hand and a clear release when the horse responds.
A shorter shank, 5cm, will give the rider a more uplifting effect. The shorter shank is suitable for horses who need to loosen up through the shoulders and come up in front. The shorter the shank; the easier it is to create bend and flexion.
A longer shank, 7cm, encourages the horse to follow the bit's contact forward and down. This is good for horses who can get high in the neck and strong.
More about the pelham shanks
Horses who are wide over the premolars/teeth may need to size up in this bit due to the upper shanks. This is because the sidepiece of the bridle is attached to the upper shank of the bit, which is placed higher up where some horses are wider than others.
The sides of the bit should rest gently against the corners of the horse’s mouth without pressing, to prevent the bit from moving from side to side.
