What Makes Fager’s Rubber Bits Different?

Material

Our rubber bits are made from high-quality TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane)—a durable, flexible material that’s non-toxic, lightweight, and kinder to the horse’s mouth. Unlike traditional rubber, TPU is long-lasting and won’t absorb moisture, making it more hygienic and resistant to wear and tear.

It offers the perfect balance of softness and stability, giving sensitive or young horses a comfortable experience without compromising communication.

Gentle. Safe. Smart. That’s TPU Rubber bits by Fager.

Shape

Our rubber bits are available with and without a tongue relief. Andrea has a small tongue relief to still be gentle on the bars and palate, while offering less pressure on the tongue. Nicole has a bar relief but is slightly thinner in the middle, allowing for a gentler fit on the tongue without excessive pressure on the bars or palate.

Hard Rubber bit - Dark olive

  • For stronger or more forward horses: Gives the rider more stability and clearer control without being harsh.
  • For riders with steady, experienced hands: Enables precise, consistent signals with less “give” in the bit.
  • For horses that chew excessively on soft bits: More durable and resistant to chewing or wear.
  • In training situations that require more defined communication: A slightly firmer response helps refine aids.

Soft Rubber bit - Light olive

  • Sensitive or bit-shy horses: Gentle, forgiving feel helps build trust and relaxation.
  • Young or green horses: Ideal for introducing the bit – soft and more forgiving.
  • Horses that avoid or resist contact: Encourages them to seek the bit and accept a steadier connection.
  • For riders who want a softer, more elastic feel: Provides a "cushioned" contact, perfect for refining feel.
