Fager Alexander is a good choice for horses who you would describe as the following:
Unhappy in the bit you currently use.
Reluctant to soften down into the bit.
Requires encouragement to seek out the contact without any stiffness.

Alexander’s anatomically shaped mouthpiece features a 45° twisted French Link, designed to follow the natural contours of the tongue. When combined with the palatable taste of Sweet Iron this bit is well accepted, including ‘hard to please’ picky, sensitive horses.
This center piece works well on a horse who pushes their tongue against the bit in an attempt to evade the contact and take control.
When taking up the reins, Alexander creates both bar and tongue pressure, encouraging the horse to respond whilst creating a lighter feeling in the hand.
A good option for horses that can get on and off in the contact.

We bought two bits when we ordered from Fager, Alexander was one of them. First of all, the overall impression as the bits came in their pretty blue bags was amazing, it felt exclusive. They arrived quickly and looked very nice. We ordered the bits after hearing a lot of good about them, but we were still a bit skeptical since we hadn’t tried them ourselves, and how much could the bits differ from the ones we already had? Well… Let me tell you! We bought the Alexander-bit for our newly started four year old icelandic mare who’s so far had a bit of a hard time accepting the bit. She’s been a bit fiddly and of course this isn’t so weird seeing as she’s only been ridden for about a month or two so far. But as soon as we started riding her on the Alexander bit she calmed in her mouth and both sucked on the bit and foamed, she started working far better. Thank you Fager for an amazing bit!
